Sponsored by MPLAN
Each year, MPLAN offers one student award, through Red River College, for participants taking any one of the courses offered in the College’s RPL Practitioner Certificate Program. The award is available to Manitoba residents who are embarking on studies/have partially completed studies in this certificate program.
The purpose of the award is to foster professionalism in the practice of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and to enhance a community of professional practitioners in Manitoba.
The award is administered through the Student Awards and Financial Aid Student Service Centre, Red River College, and will be applied toward tuition fees. In other words, the funds flow directly from MPLAN to pay the tuition fees at Red River College. The amount of the award is $200 toward tuition for a course in the RPL Practitioner Certificate.
Applications will be accepted between October 1st and March 15th each year. The successful applicant will be informed by MPLAN via letter/email on or before the following April 15th. He/she will also be invited to attend the MPLAN Annual General Meeting (normally held in May/June) to be acknowledged and to be awarded a one-year membership to MPLAN.
- Must be a resident of Manitoba.
- Must submit an application, including a 250-word essay.
- Must be willing to complete the course, to which the award will be applied, by the end of June of the year following receipt of award notification. If this is not possible, the award will be forfeited. For example, if in April 2016 award notification is received, the course must be completed by the end of June 2017 or the award will be forfeited.
