This year’s RPL Symposium activities will take place over the month of May with a local, provincial and national focus. The series of learning events include presentations at RRC RPL Symposium, a Manitoba Prior Learning Assessment (MPLAN) celebration and a national webinar on CAPLA’s RPL Quality Assurance project.

RRC’s RPL Services is pleased to host the 8th annual RPL Symposium- Recognizing Learning.

Presentation #1: RPL in Action – How College Programs Do RPL!
Presenters: Judy McGuirk, CAE Coordinator, Deb Blower, RRC RPL Facilitator
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Learn more about the innovative ways that RRC programs are implementing RPL practices and providing opportunities for students to prove prior informal and non-formal learning gained through work and life experiences. Presenters will share examples of quality RPL practices in a variety of full and part time programs including RPL in the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE).
Presentation #2: Student Mobility in Manitoba: New Directions in Collaboration
Presenter: Dave Neale, Ph. D., Executive Director, Campus Manitoba
Time: 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM
Campus Manitoba is engaged in several cooperative projects to enhance student mobility in Manitoba. The eCampusManitoba.com portal, now one year old, will be discussed. An update on the progress on the new provincial transfer credit portal will be presented, along with some of the overarching concepts that are shaping the emerging PSE strategy in Manitoba.

You will receive information about how to log on to access (and test ahead of time) the live streaming video presentations for the May 12, 2015 RPL Symposium.
Red River College Parking: Visitors coming to Red River College for the RPL Symposium may park in Lots 2W, 3W or 4W (Student Parking). From Notre Dame Avenue, enter at Entrance 4 (Lorimer Lane). Purchase your ticket from the ticket dispenser and display it in your vehicle ($1.50/hour or $7.00/day). You may park in any spot which is not labeled Staff Parking. Use the entrance between Buildings E and F and go down to the Mall level (lowest level) to the eTV Studio (GM33, next to the North Gym).
